E-mails in windows 8.1 mail app not being sent [Windows 8.1 Email and Communications Mail app]

hi I am having problems setting up an outlook e-mail address in windows 8.1 mail app. My inbox will receive and display emails as received but I cannot reply to these e-mails or send to a known e-mail address. Outlook generates an indeterminate number of sent e-mails that exceeds the daily message limit and then provides me with a rejection message saying e-mail has not been sent. I know I have the correct alias set up for the account but the server configuration or some other problem is causing the system to fail...please help!

Do you face this issue when using the outlook through web access?
You may face this issue due to incorrect mail app settings, firewall settings enabled for the network, issues with the email account which you have synced with Mail app.
Method 1: Modern app troubleshooter
The Modern app troubleshooter is a built in troubleshooter that can detect and fix most of the app errors automatically. So, I would suggest you to download and run the Modern app troubleshooter to fix any app errors. You can download it here:

Method 2: Install App updates

Method 3: Reconnect the mail account

Hi,
When you say Outlook, what version of Outlook are you working on?
Is it  Microsoft Office Outlook or Webmail i.e Outlook.com?
If it is Outlook.com please follow the below troubleshooting steps to know you are not able to send or receive Emails from Outlook.com.
